Series Director Tetsuya Nomura Blogs About Birth By Sleep
PSP
As many readers may know, 1UP.com has been host to a developer blog about Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. The blog has seen contributions from the game's Art Director, Battle Director and Animation Director already and with one more day til the North American release, Tetsuya Nomura has decided to contribute too.
Check out a segment of the blog below:
Hi everyone, I’m Tetsuya Nomura, Director of the KINGDOM HEARTS series. It’s hard to believe we’re just a few days away from the North American release of KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep. I’m looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks of the game.
The North American version of KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep has a lot of new elements, including Critical mode, which takes the difficulty level beyond Proud mode, Keyblades, abilities, mini-game maps and songs. We’re also unleashing a mystery enemy for North American fans, so hopefully everyone will enjoy the challenge.
Nomura goes on to mention the new Disney worlds that players of Birth by Sleep can look forward to, especially the three princesses' worlds. Zack Fair's involvement in the game is also explained, though many fans already know that the timeline of Birth by Sleep was reason enough to put the Final Fantasy favourite in the game.
Nomura then goes on to give a brief description as to why the game is split into the three stories instead of just the one. "I thought that separating the story into three perspectives and having the player choose the order of progression would deepen the mystery". Nomura is indeed one for mystery as not much more information is given in his blog post that we don't already know. The rest of his blog can be found here however for those interested.
Birth by Sleep will be available tomorrow, the 7th of September, in North America and the 10th in Europe exclusively on the Sony PSP.
