The Three Musketeers have shown up to the Kingdom Hearts party as seen from scans in the January 2012 issue of V Jump Magazine.
You can see Donald, Mickey, and Goofy wearing their Musketeer outfits and holding their swords up proudly. Where Sora and Riku fit into this scenario has not yet been revealed and this also is the first we have seen of Donald and Goofy in Dream Drop Distance.
efore TGS goers got to play the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Demo at TGS 2011, Nomura gave gamers a bit of insight on what's to be expected gameplay wise.
As seen in teasers before, there's a lot of jumping off walls and handrails in Dream Drop Distance. Apparently this is all part of a new gameplay mechanic known as "Free Flow Action". Basically, by using only the "Y" button, players can perform a chain of actions. One such pattern could be press "Y" to jump off a wall, then press "Y" again to glide, then press "Y" again to slide down a nearby handrail.
There have been quite a few translations floating around on what exactly was said and shown in the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance trailer at TGS 2011, so here's a bit of an overview of what exactly has been revealed via this trailer.
1. Notre Dame - An Official New World
As theorized before, Notre Dame is officially one of the worlds in Dream Drop Distance. The trailer showed a scene between Riku and Quasimodo who is holding Esmerelda. Much like the other games, Quasimodo will also act as a party member should you choose to use him.
A Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance poster has been revealed giving Kingdom Hearts fans a ton more information on this next installment of the Kingdom Hearts series.
Seems that Sora and Riku have gone through a bit of a makeover this game. Sora's design seems to be a bit of a mixture of his Kingdom Hearts I costume and his Kingdom Hearts II costume. His pants are red and puffy much like the first game, but his top has a huge white "X" which is similar to the belts on his pants from the second game. Riku doesn't seem to have too much different in his costume from Kingdom Hearts II but his hair is noticeably shorter and is looking more like Noctis' hair from the notoriously unreleased Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
On Nintendo's official site, the company has announced a few games that would be compatible with the 3DS' new Slide Pad accessory; Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was amongst the group.
This accessory is used to give the 3DS a second circle pad as seen in regular console controllers. Perhaps this will help with camera use in handheld games which seems to be a common complaint amongst handheld buyers.
It's time again for another Burning Question which, for you first timers, is a segment in our Kingdom Hearts Union Podcast where we feature answers from all you wonderful people.
As mentioned in Kingdom Hearts Union Podcast 31, we talked a bit about Dream Drop Distance's playable demo at TGS. However, with the 3DS receiving massive price cuts, it may be worth wondering how it'll effect the game's future.
So our question for you is with the recent struggles of the 3DS, what do you think about the fate of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance?
Square Enix have officially released the Kingdom Hearts 3D trailer that was seen last week at the 1st Production Department event. The trailer can be seen on both the official website and Square Enix's YouTube channel, so presumably it won't be taken down any time soon.
The Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Type-0 trailer have also been released - see them over at Final Fantasy Union.
With Birth By Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded out on the market, Tetsuya Nomura has now turned the spotlight on his newest Kingdom Hearts installment in a recent interview with Famitsu.
Previously known as Kingdom Hearts 3DS, this new title finally received its full official name at last week's Square Enix 1st Production Department Premier event. Dream Drop Distance is now the game on every Kingdom Hearts fans' lips.
The name in English, as described by Nomura, comes from the phrase "The distance you fall in your dreams." Nomura does say that the title is not grammatically correct compared to the Japanese wording, however, he said his focus was more on the sound of the phrase than the grammar.
Together the words have a number of meanings; one of which, drop, refers to some of the gameplay in the game. As previewed in the trailer, we see Sora sliding down a rope at high speeds and Riku kicking off walls to move forward which implies the possible incorporation of gravity and falling.
