Kingdom Hearts: Coded is an episodic mobile phone game exclusive to Japan, the story of Coded takes place during the events of KH2. The Coded story recently concluded with it's eighth episode and now fans are awaiting any news on a Western release.
Kingdom Hearts: Coded's senior planner Jun Kato has recently spoken with Japanese gaming magazine Otona Fami revealing his wishes for the future of the title. "Kato apparently confided his desire to be able to put the game to a larger audience, given that relatively few people can play Coded on its current platform".
Unfortunately, a "larger audience" could mean releasing the game on the Western market or it could simply mean releasing the game on other phone models in Japan. Whatever the case, fans can remain hopeful that there is talk of distributing to more of an audience and may even include the West at a later date.
The final episode of Kingdom Hearts: Coded has been released prompting an official site update to include information about Episode 8 of the mobile phone game series.
The Coded series is currently an exclusive to Japanese shores due to the technology used in mobile phones over there but Square Enix may release it to Western territories eventually. Alongside each episode of the game, the Official Kingdom Hearts website has added information to keep fans up to date with what's going on.
As it stands, Kingdom Hearts: Coded Episode 8 will be the last installment in the Coded series, will this possibly allow the developers to work full force on the rumoured Kingdom Hearts 3 fans are eagerly anticipating instead?
Screenshots of the final episode can be found in the full story.
Episode 6 of Kingdom Hearts Coded has been announced, and it will heavily feature Maleficent, as well as Pete.
The new episode focuses on Data Sora's adventure in the Data Worlds of Jiminy's Journal. The specifics are quite unknown, but it does seem as though Donald and Goofy will also be returning to help Sora with his adventure.
Unfortunately, it also appears as though Kingdom Hearts Coded will be coming to an end, although Square Enix haven't announced when this will actually happen.
It wasn't long since Kingdom Hearts Coded, the Japanese mobile game, announced that the 4th episode was to feature the world of Herucles and the Olympus Coliseum. The Episode was made available for gamers to download on the 17th of September.
Now in the latest issue of V-Jump Magazine, the 5th Episode has been revealed and it will take place in the world of Agrabah. This means it's very likely we'll be seeing the return of Aladdin once again to Kingdom Hearts.
With regards the Japanese mobile game Kingdom Hearts Coded, it's been a little while since Episode 3 was released and Episode 4 is now being teased about. In fact the new episode is due for release this month!
Episode 4 is going to take place in the Olympus Coliseum and although a great deal of information isn't known, Sora will be teaming up with Hercules and Cloud. This information was divulged in the latest edition of Famitsu Magazine.
Not that many people will actually get the chance to play this in the western world, but we'll still report any new developments with Coded as time goes on.
With Tokyo Game Show 2009 on the horizon, Square Enix recently divulged what would be appearing during the prestigious Japanese event.
Revealing that both Kingdom Hearts Coded, their mobile game, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, for the Sony PlayStation Portable, would feature at the show.
Kingdom Hearts Coded will only be showcasing a trailer, however, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will be featuring not only a trailer, but a playable demo of the game as well.
TGS 2009 will run from the 24th to the 27th of September. So stay tuned for more coverage from TGS 2009 as time draws closer.
