Kingdom Hearts Characters

The Kingdom Hearts franchise first started in 2002, when Disney teamed up with Square Enix to produce an interesting combination. Since the first game arrived on the PlayStation 2, the Kingdom Hearts franchise has grown from strength to strength, and it's appeared on most major consoles.

There is a continuing story that has run since the beginning, with it being added to with each iteration of the franchise. The spin-offs really help to inform the player of certain events and they have made expanding the series a delight. The first departure from the main franchise came with Chains of Memories, which appeared on the Gameboy Advance, but there have since been others appearing on mobile phones, the Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS. The gameplay itself is a hybrid of styles, but there is usually one playable character only. As we move forward, we hope to add detailed information about newer games, such as Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days.

One of the things that makes the franchise so interesting is the mix between existing Square Enix characters, primarily from Final Fantasy, Disney characters from their feature films, but also the presence of completely new characters that were created specially for the Kingdom Hearts universe.

Throughout the lifespan of Final Fantasy, there have been some heroic protagonists, such as Sora and Kairi and some devilish antagonists, such as Ansem and Xenahort. All of which have had great supporting casts, which make the gaming experience much more enriching.
