Birth by Sleep Final Mix News, Videos And It's Very Own Website

PSP by Nick

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix seems to be the topic that most Kingdom Hearts fans are talking about. The PSP title is of course a revised version of Birth by Sleep that came out earlier this year on the same platform. But even though the Final Mix version seems to be nothing more than an expansion pack, it's this expansion pack that has warranted its very own website along with a strong following of fan support. Well, at least in Japan.

It is with this support that Square Enix had decided to create the Birth by Sleep Final Mix Website. Packed with the 'latest' news, videos and screens for fans to drool over while they wait for the actual game on the 20th of January, 2011. There isn't a lot of content besides a few new images and information on characters, worlds and the game itself (in Japanese), but what is exciting is that the trailer from this year's Tokyo Game Show has been made available to watch.

Scans Of The Mysterious Birth by Sleep Final Mix Warrior

PSP by Nick

Birth by Sleep Final Mix details have been released in the form of Jump scans that have surfaced online. The main focus seems to be on the new armoured warrior who wields the same keyblade as Master Eraqus. The smaller image of Eraqus below the warrior seems to suggest that it is in fact him underneath the armour.

Rumour has it that the battle against the armoured warrior could also be featured as a Mirage Battle allowing players to join up and fight the mysterious figure together. Without revealing any spoilers, it is hard to say how this may affect the story if it does turn out to be Eraqus, but it certainly looks like an exciting battle, maybe even one of the secret boss battles?

All will be revealed when the game finally releases in Japan on the 20th of January next year, providing that the release date doesn't change....again.

Square Enix Releases It's Birth By Sleep Final Mix Trailer

PSP by Nick

Square Enix recently promised to release its Tokyo Game Show Closed Theater trailers. The first being Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, the revised version of Birth by Sleep being re-released in Japan with a few new features.

The extra features have already been listed before but Square will probably add a few surprises to attract fans who already own the original game. There is still no word on a Western release and it seems unlikely that there will be at all, though this is only due to previous Final Mix games being exclusive to Japan.

Birth by Sleep Final Mix Trailer At TGS

PSP by Nick

A trailer for Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix was being showcased at the Square Enix booth at this year's Tokyo Game Show. The revised version of Birth by Sleep is set to contain extra features and content and will be released in Japan sometime next January.

In our full story is a rough video of the game's trailer, complete with additions that were not present in the original game, such as Monstro and a new armoured Keyblade wielder.

Final Mix versions of the Kingdom Hearts games rarely make it to a Westen release but it is surprising that the trailer was in English. This might have been for the Western audience at the Tokyo Game Show but it could also mean that Square Enix might actually release it over here.

Only time will tell.

Thanks to GU forum member RedRose for the news.

A Few Details Emerge About Birth By Sleep Final Mix

PSP by Nick

The Tokyo Game Show opened it's doors today allowing thousands of gamers to play, watch and read about the latest games in development in Japan. Press conferences were also a key part of the proceedings providing information not yet known to us or the public.

At the Sony press conference, Square Enix Producer Shinji Hashimoto revealed a few details about the previously announced Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix. The details are as follows.

- The game will be released in Japan sometime in January, 2011
- There is a new armoured character (details unknown)
- There will be more content on top of what the NA and EU versions have
- The game will come with a code to be used in the upcoming game Final Fantasy Dissidia 012, the code unlocks Cloud Strife's original KH costume to be used in the game
- The Mirage Arena may be getting new areas though the Final Mix trailer only featured a Monstro-esque location seen below.

Monstro ArenaThough we at KHU were not able to make it to TGS this year, Hearstation.org were and had this to say about the Birth by Sleep Final Mix trailer. "The BBSFM trailer showed Terra fighting Monstro and Eraqus in full armor. Ven had a new Keyblade, like his original but darker colored."

This is all interesting news but Final Mix versions of the Kingdom Hearts games are almost never released outside of Japan. That being said, at least us Western fans won't have to essentially buy the same game twice.

Birth By Sleep Gets A TV Commercial

PSP by Nick

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep will be released next month and what better way to let the public know than by giving it its own TV commercial.

The North American commercial features gameplay, cut-scenes and well, not much else, but what do you expect from a 30 second long video? What was a little interesting was the lack of Disney input. Mickey and Captain Hook are clearly seen near the beginning of the commercial but not much after that.

Maybe Square Enix are focusing on the older gamer much more than the average Disney cartoon fan? If this is true then the story will surely be worth the wait. Just in case you miss it, Birth by Sleep will be available on the 7th of September in North America and the 10th for Europe exclusively for the PSP.

Birth By Sleep's Final Trailer Gets Finalised

PSP by Nick

The final trailer for Birth by Sleep was recently released only to have an updated version come out less than a week later.

Unfortunately there isn't much that can be said about the new 'final' trailer, it is a simple mix-up of the previous trailer but in a different order. Eagle-eyed viewers may spot that there are six seconds of extra time from the previous trailer but it is hard to spot any new parts to the already seven minute long video.

Birth by Sleep is being released exclusively on the Sony PSP and will be available in North America on the 7th of September and Europe on the 10th.
