Kingdom Hearts 3D gets 3DS Bundle and 10th Aniversary Box

With the release of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance and the tenth anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts franchise coming up, Square Enix prepared a couple of special goodies to celebrate.

First off, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance will be getting its very own limited edition Nintendo 3DS bundle that includes the game, a Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance themed Nintendo 3DS, and a Dream Eater AR card that can be used to unlock a rare Dream Eater within the game. This bundle costs 21,090 yen.

In honor of Kingdom Hearts having its tenth anniversary, Square Enix will also be leasing what's known as the Kingdom Hearts 10th Anniversary Box. This set not only has Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, but it also comes with two additional Kingdom Heart's games: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (both are the Nintendo DS version). All of this plus a protective cover with an original design and 12 postcards with Kingdom Hearts visuals is for 15,000 yen.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is out for Japan on March 29.

Noruma Talks Kingdom Hearts 3D in Famitsu Interview

Famitsu recently grabbed an interview with Tetsuya Nomura, who revealed quite a few interesting pieces of information regarding Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

Alongside the worlds of Pinnochio and The Three Musketeers, there's a world based on Fantasia known as "Symphony of Sorcery." The scans show Mickey donning his apprentice's attire while in his dream sequence, meeting with Riku, and along with the enchanted brooms. There's also an image that has Chernabog appearing in front of Riku.

Kingdom Hearts 3D Confirmed For North America

Square Enix have officially confirmed that Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance will indeed have a western release sometime next year.

Dream Drop Distance will follow Sora and Riku's story as they enter a dream world where they meet up with characters from the game The World Ends with You. So far Pinnochio, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Three Musketeers worlds have been confirmed. Tron was featured in the Jump Festa 2012 trailer although Square Enix has not yet confirmed it.

Kingdom Hearts 3D's Jump Festa Trailer Surfaces

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance debuted at this year's Jump Festa, where attendees got the chance to get their hands on a demo and view a new trailer for the game. During the event, we were only able to get impressions of the demo and trailer, but now the trailer is up for everyone to enjoy!

The trailer goes on for a whopping eight minutes and is full of cutscenes (both real-time and CG) as well as gameplay. As mentioned earlier in the trailer rundown here, the video has a great line of appearances returning from the previous games (although, not in the same way that you would've expected), including some new faces from The World Ends with You. This trailer we've got for you here also includes English subtitles, so make sure you click on the 'close captioned' button if they don't appear.

Although there's no definite date set yet, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is expected for a release in Japan sometime in March 2012.

Pinnochio World To Appear In Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance

This week's issue of Shonen Jump announces that the new world for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is a Pinocchio world.

This new area is known as "Pranksters Paradise" and featured in the scan is a render of Pinocchio with donkey ears and a tail, along with a couple of screenshots. One screenshot has Jiminy Cricket alongside Pinnochio in a cage. The other has Jiminy Cricket on top of Riku's shoulders, with the caption "We're in a circus cabin inside the stomach of a huge whale."

There's also a bit of the Hunchback of Notre Dame in the scan. This world is known as "Land of Bells" and you can see a render of Quasimodo as well as a screenshot of Sora alongside Judge Claude Frollo and Captain Phoebus.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Attending Jump Festa

Earlier today Square Enix revealed their line-up for this year's Jump Festa and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance is confirmed to make an appearance.

Jump Festa attendees will get the chance to play Kingdom Hearts 3D before the game's release. Square Enix shall also be hosting something in the large screen "mega theater", so there's a good chance for us to grab some more Dream Drop Distance footage.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is scheduled for a Spring 2012 release in Japan.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance TGS Trailer Released

The Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance trailer that was showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2011 last week has finally surfaced onto the net.

The trailer starts off with Yen Sid assigning Sora and Riku the Mark of Mastery exam before cutting to scenes with Sora meeting up with Neku from The World Ends With You, Riku talking with Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, as well as plenty of gameplay in-between.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Compatible With 3DS Slide Pad

On Nintendo's official site, the company has announced a few games that would be compatible with the 3DS' new Slide Pad accessory; Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was amongst the group.

This accessory is used to give the 3DS a second circle pad as seen in regular console controllers. Perhaps this will help with camera use in handheld games which seems to be a common complaint amongst handheld buyers.
