Wed, Jun 23rd, 2010, 5:02 pm (EST) by Nick
Famitsu recently sat down with Square Enix composer Yoko Shimomura who revealed that she will be composing three songs for Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded.
Shimomura had previously created two original songs for Coded but despite doing one more than this for Re:Coded, Game Director Tetsuya Nomura's orders aren't too tough, she described. Famitsu were lucky enough to get an early listen to one of the unnamed tracks, describing it as "cute". Shimomura then explained that the piece they had listened to was for Re:Coded's "Data World", a song mostly comprised of 'chip tunes' to add a sense of nostalgia for the player.
Shimomura went on to say that the 'chip tune' style was not the only thing to make players feel nostalgic, the game has also been set to include a lot of music from the original Kingdom Hearts.
It is good to hear that Shimomura will be involved in the music of Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, she is a talented artist who has certainly proven her worth through previous Kingdom Hearts games and other video game titles.
