Birth by Sleep Final Mix News, Videos And It's Very Own Website

PSP by Nick

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix seems to be the topic that most Kingdom Hearts fans are talking about. The PSP title is of course a revised version of Birth by Sleep that came out earlier this year on the same platform. But even though the Final Mix version seems to be nothing more than an expansion pack, it's this expansion pack that has warranted its very own website along with a strong following of fan support. Well, at least in Japan.

It is with this support that Square Enix had decided to create the Birth by Sleep Final Mix Website. Packed with the 'latest' news, videos and screens for fans to drool over while they wait for the actual game on the 20th of January, 2011. There isn't a lot of content besides a few new images and information on characters, worlds and the game itself (in Japanese), but what is exciting is that the trailer from this year's Tokyo Game Show has been made available to watch.

In other news, Heartstation.org have translated details on some of the new features that have been added exclusively to Birth by Sleep Final Mix. The translations have come from both Famitsu Weekly and Dengeki Playstion and can be read below.

New commands obtainable in Mission Mode!

In Final Mix, you can obtain new commands by achieving the objectives within the time limit of the newly added Battle Mission feature. If you clear the missions with a high enough score, you can obtain the Illusion command, though it isn’t available in all missions. An example of this sort of new missions being introduced, you collect the balls dropped by enemies when you attack them. In total, there are 9 new types of missions.

Who is the armored man shrouded in mystery?

A new mission added to the Arena Mode is the “Instruction of Light.” The armored man that appears there unleashes harsh moves that are hard to evade. The man resembles Terra and company’s teacher Master Eraqus, but maybe we can understand his true form if he is defeated? He lashes at the player with chains made of light; if you get caught you can’t move! The chains lift the player up and slam them into the ground. Additionally, when caught in these chains he can change your battle style back to normal. He also releases lasers that strike at high speeds and attack regardless of your distance from him.

New power is born from the bond of friendship!

In Arena Mode you can exercise new multiplayer techniques with up to 3 other people! This time attacks “Bundle Voltage” and “Union Rush” are introduced, and their power changes depending on each person’s reaction. If everyone exercises the techniques correctly, you can release a great deal of damage. Using the Bundle Voltage attack, action target icons appear. When all the players’ icons are within the white circle, a large explosion occurs. The Union Rush attack is exercised by pressing the buttons that appear in good timing, then the characters rush at enemies repeatedly inflicting damage. In the finishing move, the three characters revolve and rush to attack. Depending on the timing of the three players pressing the button, the damage is dealt.

Last but not least, Famitsu have uploaded screenshots of Birth by Sleep Final Mix, fortunately for us the images are centered around all of the new content, then again that was obvious. More specifically, the new images provide a look at the new Blobmob boss found within 'Deep Space', a recolouring of the basic Unversed and the previously reported armoured warrior.
