Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded Coming To DS

by Nick

What was once considered to be a mobile phone exclusive in Japan, Kingdom Hearts: Coded, or Re:Coded in this case, will be coming to the Nintendo DS in the West.

Square Enix announced the release of the former exclusive title on the DS through their latest press release. No release date was given but a short description of the story fans can expect has been revealed.

"Sora's journey in Kingdom Hearts II has drawn to a close, and now a new tale is set to begin. Jiminy Cricket is looking over the journal he used to document his first adventure with Sora when he discovers a mysterious message. He didn’t write it – so how on earth did it get there? King Mickey is determined to find out, so he and his friends decide to digitize the journal and delve into its deepest secrets. Inside this “datascape” dwells a second Sora who is about to embark on a grand adventure of his very own."

The original Kingdom Hearts: Coded was released in Japan just over a year ago exclusively for the NTT Docomo mobile phone. Because of this, western fans of the Disney/Square Enix collaborative franchise were left wondering if they would ever get to play the game at all. Now the answer is clear, the only mystery surrounding the game now is when will it be released?
