The official release date for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix has recently surfaced in the latest issue of Shonen Jump. The game will be hitting store shelves in Japan on the 27th of January, 2011.

Also, Famitsu has given us some more details about some of the newly added features in the game:

Mirage Arena Boss Monstro.
The mission for facing this giant whale is called "Monster of the Deep." When fighting him on the outside, he tries to inflict damage by flying through the air and using a "Jump" attack. If dodged, Monstro ends up beached on land offering a chance to attack. After every 3 minutes of the battle, Monstro swallows up the player forcing them to fight the Unversed lying in wait inside. This task is made even more difficult for players as they have to stay away from the whale's stomach acid, which in turn causes damage if touched.

Peter Pan Themed Command Board.
In this special themed command board there are many different panels that can have different effects on the players or the board itself . While on the command board, TinkerBell can appear and provide pixie dust which players can use to move opponents to any panel they wish.

New Songs in Rhythmic Ice-Cream Mini-game.
Several new songs are going to be added to the game but the only confirmed music so far is the gummi ship theme from the original Kingdom Hearts.

"Special friends" command added to Arena Mode.
There are two newly added illusion type commands that you can use in Arena Mode. See below for their descriptions.

The first command, called Illusion L, allows you to transform into the plant-like Unversed, Lunching Plant. While in this state, your commands will change to several Unversed moves like "Dig underground/Come Out", "Return", the base command "Fight", and the finishing command "Poison attack".

The other command, Illusion D, lets you transform into the huge unversed, Diet Tank. This Unversed can reflect attacks from its front side and has powerful attacks, but their weaknesses are their slow movements and vulnerable backside. As for attacks, the normal attacks are "Back Drop" and "Return", the base command is "Smoke Bomb", and the finishing command is "Jet Rush."

Despite these pretty cool details, they are merely a few little additions to the Western Birth By Sleep. Though Birth by Sleep Final Mix may only appear in Japan where the content has been significantly expanded.
